A New Chapter Unfolds
In the height of summer in July, 151 management trainees of the Class of 2026 at Guangzhou Delton officially embarked on their shop‑floor practice. Moving from “classroom theory and plant tours” to “hands-on operation and on-the-job mentoring,” and from “knowing what it is” to “doing it yourself.” Through four weeks of intensive shop‑floor training, these new‑comers to the workplace completed their first real‑world professional exercise amid the actual production rhythm of PCB manufacturing.
Training Arrangement: Full Immersion on the Front Lines
Trainees were rotated across different production lines, combining daily hands-on work with team learning and reflection sessions. Guided by mentors, they got to grips with equipment operation, process flows, quality control, and safety standards. Following SOP documents, they mastered standard operating procedures and visual management requirements item by item, achieving rapid growth within real‑life production conditions.

Problem‑Oriented Learning: From Spotting Problems to Understanding Underlying Logic
As the practice deepened, the training focus shifted to “problem-driven learning with review and Q&A.” Trainees brought forward real issues encountered on the line, including process bottlenecks, standard execution gaps, and exception handling mechanisms, and engaged in in-depth discussions with quality, process, and production managers during Q&A sessions. Process experts encouraged them to apply the 5W2H and PDCA methods and to observe systematically across the “man, machine, material, method, environment” framework, identifying and articulating problems with precision.

Quality Awareness: From Observers to Guardians
During the practice period, the Quality Department delivered a “Quality Reporting” training session to help trainees master the proper methods for identifying and reporting issues. The trainees not only learned to “read” the production line but also to “spot” problems, building a quality mindset of “never accept, never make, never pass on” defects. Meanwhile, the Corporate Culture team conducted parallel training on suggestion systems, guiding trainees to turn problem identification into improvement actions.
Job Assessment: Pass Both Theoretical and Practical Evaluations
To evaluate the outcomes of shop‑floor practice, the Human Resources Department organized theoretical examinations for job certification as well as hands‑on assessments. After intensive training, trainees were able to independently perform standard operations at basic positions, with significant improvement in both operational compliance and proficiency.
Production Line Practical Training Debrief: Reflecting, Consolidating and Moving Forward
Upon completion of the practice, the Human Resources Department held a phase‑summary meeting. Management trainees participated in group discussions and shared insights on challenges and gains from shop‑floor work. Alumni from previous cohorts also attended to share their growth journeys. The core takeaway for every trainee from this front‑line experience is the shift “from passively executing tasks to proactively identifying problems”.
Closing Remarks
Through the production line placement, Guangzhou Delton’s management trainees have internalized knowledge from theory to practice, and completed the role transition from classroom learners to workshop practitioners. Though this front‑line training has concluded, their professional journey has just begun. We expect every new member of the Delton family to continue putting down deep roots and growing upwards, pursuing their dreams on the path of smart manufacturing with the spirit of “broadly embracing wisdom and uniting to foster innovation”!
